Group crèches
Municipal crèches cater for children aged from 10 weeks until they start nursery school.
Children are looked after by groups of around twenty and are supervised by a team of professionals early childhood (early childhood educators, childcare assistants, social workers).
In order to personalise reception, a "referent" professional takes special care of 5 or 6 children at certain key times of the day.
In these early childhood establishments, the space is arranged in such a way as to encourage the early learning and development of the children being cared for, while complying with strict health and safety standards for the premises and regulatory staffing levels.
These are places where children can gradually acquire their independence in the company of other children, as part of a group environment. There is an educational project and internal rules defining the educational objectives and operating procedures that parents must undertake to respect when entrusting their child to the establishment.
Group crèches are open Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm.

Family crèches
Municipal family crèches look after children from the end of their maternity leave until they start nursery school.
The family crèche combines the advantages of childcare in the childminder's home with time spent in the community.
The childminders are employed by the town. They are part of a dynamic created around the child, thanks to teamwork involving nursery nurses, early childhood educators, nurses, psychologists and childcare workers. Parents are not the employers.
Family crèches are open Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6.30pm.
Each family crèche accommodates 60 children and has 30 childminders.

Micro-crèches
Halfway between a traditional crèche and a childminder, the micro-crèche is a facility that can accommodate a maximum of three children. ten children aged between 2 months and 3 years.
The micro-crèche provides individual care for children, with a family approach. All ages are mixed together, so the younger children are pulled up by the older ones and learn how to look after the younger ones.
The activities are carried out in small groups, allowing for real exchanges and moments of sharing.
Micro-crèches are subject to the same rules as conventional day-care centres, with premises that meet safety standards and facilities designed to promote children's development and safety.
