The right to vote is one of the foundations of our democracy. In France, this right was won gradually: 1848 for men and 1944 for women. The present day, voting is a right. It is also a civic duty.
The right to vote is guaranteed to all French citizens. Citizens of European Union member states can also vote in municipal and European elections.
It is possible to register on the electoral roll and vote in the same year. However, there is a registration deadline.
